Terms & Rental Policies
for Maggie's Cabin & Maggie's Love Shack
Thank you for your interest in Maggies Cabin. We find that
guests who take the time to read this information are fully
informed about their and our rental obligations.
These policies apply to both Maggies Cabin and Maggies Love
Shack.
Making a reservation implies agreement with these policies.

Payment: |
A reservation can be made with a nonrefundable 25% deposit
paid by credit card when the reservation is made. The credit
card must be valid for the duration of your stay. Full payment
is due 30 days prior to scheduled arrival date. It will be
charged to your credit card. If a reservation is made less
than 30 days prior to arrival, full payment with Visa or Mastercard
is due when the reservation is made. |
Rates: |
Current rates are posted on the websites.
Washington tax (8.8%) will be added to these rates. Rates
are subject to change without notice. The rate at the time
of the reservation will be honored. The weekly rates are not
available during holidays and holiday periods. A weekend is
Friday/Saturday nights and must be rented together, unless
reservation is for 4 or more nights or one of those nights
is not available. |
Cancellations and reschedules: |
Cancellations and reschedules may be made up to 30 days
before the first day of your reservation. If a cancellation
or reschedule is made with less notice there is no refund
unless we are able to rebook the cabin in which case we will
refund 75% of the days that are rebooked. All reservation
changes, including # of guests, must be acknowledged in writing.
The deposit can be credited to a future reservation within
12 months. Trip insurance may be purchased through CSA Travel
Protection (1-800-554-9839) to cover emergencies resulting
in cancellation. |
Minimum Stay: |
There is a 2 night minimum stay, except there is a 3 night
minimum in July, August & on holidays. Holidays are Martin
Luther King Weekend, Presidents Weekend, Memorial Day Weekend,
July 4th, Labor Day Weekend, Thanksgiving and December 17th-31st.
Shorter stays are accepted where available or within 14 days
of arrival. |
Minimum Age: |
Anyone under age 21 must be accompanied by their parent
at Maggies Cabins. The minimum age is 25 at Maggies Cabins
unless accompanied by their parent. Exceptions are made on
an individual basis. |
Change in the number of guests/conduct of guests: |
Please inform us of any change in the number of guests
before your arrival so the cabin can be prepared appropriately.
No refunds are given for changes in the number of guests after
your arrival. The cabin is not for parties, nor gatherings
at any time of anyone except for those who have paid to stay
there. Unauthorized people at the cabin at any time will result
in a min $100 charge, a $50 charge for each unregistered guest.
If there is excessive noise or music, and/or illegal activity,
or evidence of violation of these polices you may be asked
to vacate the premises without any refund. |
Arrival Time: |
Unless you have arranged an early arrival time, please
do not arrive early to allow us time to prepare the cabin
for you. Check in time is at 4pm. |
Departure time: |
Your prompt departure is appreciated so we can prepare
the cabin for the next guests. There may be a charge for a
delayed check out. Check out is at noon. |
Smokers/Pets: |
Strictly no pets. Smoking is allowed outside. Close the
doors and windows so the smoke does not drift into the cabin.
Discard butts and ashes in the outside garbage. Do not threw
butts on the ground or bring into the cabin. Candles, oil
lamps, incense and cologne are not permitted in the cabin.
If these policies are violated, there will be a minimum 3
hour excessive cleaning charge. |
Damage, Missing Items: |
Any damage to the cabin or its contents or missing item(s)
will be charged to your credit card at repair or replacement
cost. If there is such a charge, an explanation will be mailed
to you within 15 days. If there is extensive damage or cleaning,
the final charge may be after 15 days. |
Hot tub: |
Use of the hot tub is strictly at your own risk and liability.
An adult must always accompany children. Observe the safety
precautions posted at the tub and have other guests do likewise.
Do not sit, stand or lie on tub cover. A $300 charge will
be made if the cover is broken. Replace both covers when you
are not in the tub to conserve heat, for safety, and to keep
debris out of the water. Use non-breakable drink containers
in the tub area. The tub will be maintained on an as-needed
basis. If the tub needs attention, please notify us. If the
water level is low (below the water fill line) add more water
or call, as low water level can destroy the pump. Shower or
bathe before using the hot tub. If the next guests are unable
to use the tub due to murky water or the tub has to be drained
prior to schedule, there is a $45 charge. Instructions for
the tub controls are posted at the tub. |
Housekeeping Supplies: |
A starter supply of expendable supplies such as paper goods,
soap, and garbage bags are provided. Bring additional if you
feel this will not be adequate. Housekeeping is not provided
during your stay unless previously arranged. Basic cleaning
supplies are stocked to do you own cleaning during your stay.
To avoid a cleaning charge, please leave the cabin as you
found it (with the exception of the linens). Clean dishes
may be left in the drainer to dry. If all the dishes do not
fit in the drainer, dry and put them away. Excessive cleaning
will be charged to your credit card at $50/hr, with a one
hour minimum. There is a minimum 3 hour charge for the following:
any tobacco smell or products in the cabin, pets on the property,
urine on bedding.
Personal hygiene items, such as feminine products, tissues
and condoms should be appropriately disposed of by the guest
(placed in the garbage) in consideration of our housekeeping
staff. |
Linens: |
Towels (1/person/day), sheets 4 pillows/bed, and 1 blanket
plus down comforter/bed are provided. Bring extras if you
think this will not be adequate. Do not take the cabin linens
outside-bring items with you that you may need for smoking
outside or sunbathing. |
Plumbing: |
We use a septic system. Help us protect the environment.
Do not put any feminine product sor condoms in the toilet.
Limiting the amount of toilet paper used will help prevent
a clog. Plungers are provided if a clog occurs. Please do
not pour grease down the drain or toilet. |
Power Failure, Weather/Early Departure: |
Emergency equipment such as light is provided to use during
a power failure. We cannot give refunds to inclement weather
or for early departure for any reason unless we are able to
rebook the facility. |
Cancellations by Maggies Cabin: |
In the unlikely event that we will have to make any changes
to confirmed reservations, we will advise you at the earliest
possible date. If this does happen, you will be given a full
refund. We will also attempt to locate another facility for
you. We will not be liable for any further obligations or
claims by you. |
Security of the Cabin: |
When you rent the cabin, you assume responsibility for
it and its contents, as well as your personal property. Always
lock the doors and windows when you leave the cabin. There
is a key safe to which you will be given a code. This code
is changed with every guest for security. |
Risks/Safety: |
Children are welcome, but there are conditions in and around
the home that may pose hazards to them, as well as to adults,
such as the river, steep riverbank, wildlife, and the fireplace.
Maggies Cabin does not assume any responsibility for injuries
resulting from your failure to use due caution. Children must
be supervised at all times. Candles are not allowed due to
fire hazard except citronella candles in buckets outside. |
Repairs: |
Please let us know of any needed repairs and they will
be repaired as soon as possible. No refunds will be issued
for malfunctioning equipment unless it poses a safety hazard,
in which case a prorated refund will be given. A $25 refund
per stay will be given if you are unable to use the tub due
to malfunction. |
Fireplace/Heat: |
When there is a fire the door must be closed. Damage caused
by use of the fireplace will be charged to your credit card
at repair/replacement cost. The fireplace cannot be used when
there is a stagnant air burn ban, but can be used when there
is an outdoor burn ban. Do not put anything except wood or
wood products in the fireplace. Do not put any flammable material
on or near any heat source, such as the electric baseboard
heaters and fireplace. Wood IS provided. |
Left Items: |
Please check carefully for belongings before you leave.
Left items can be mailed to you COD if requested. |
Legal: |
In the event of litigation to enforce this agreement, the
parties agree that venue will lie in Seattle, King County,
WA. Any costs of collection and/or litigation will be paid
by the guest. |
